If I earn a National Award, will my artwork be exhibited?A selection of National Medalist art and writing will be on display during the National Events in New York City. Due to space limitations, we cannot guarantee that your work will be shown. In past years, the exhibition has included American Voices & Visions Medals, Gold Medal Portfolio, Gold Medal artwork and writing, and Sponsored Awards.
How do I enter?
3 Steps to Enter:
1. REGISTER
Create an account at https://www.artandwriting.org/Login.
2. UPLOAD ALL YOUR WORKS
Once you have logged in, follow the instructions to upload all of your submissions into the system. Every category has specific requirements so please read the Guidelines and Category Descriptions carefully. Note that you will need your teacher's email address.
3. SEND IN THE REQUIRED FORMS
Specific form requirements vary by region so please read the instructions carefully as you go through the registration process.
Submission Fee$5.00 per individual submission and $20.00 per portfolio submission.
Image RequirementsDigital Image Requirements
• JPG file
• Print dimensions must be 5" x 7" or larger.
• Image resolution must be 300 dpi.
• Students can scan photography at 100%.
• For 3-D works, include up to four images. Please include a ruler or another object for reference to indicate scale in at least one if the images.
• For Comic Art, include up to eight images.
• Videos are uploaded online according to category descriptions
Fee Waiver: Students for whom submission fees would be a barrier to participation may request a fee waiver. Please have the educator who signs your submission form also sign the FEE WAIVER FORM. Include the fee waiver form when you mail your signed submission form(s) to complete your registration.
Notification: Award recipients will be posted on our webpage on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 5:00 PM (Eastern Time). Award-winning students and their educators will also receive congratulatory letters in the mail.
PLEASE NOTE: Only Award-winning students and their educators will receive notification letters.
Students who are not awarded will not receive notification by mail.

About the Northeast Art Region-at-Large
How is Region-at-Large different from a local program?
Region-at-Large students submit work to the national office in New York City. They have the same opportunity to earn Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention Awards; however, there are no local ceremonies or exhibitions. Gold Key works will be considered for national-level recognition.
If a school, homeschool, or other educational program located in the NORTHEAST region (CT, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA, ME, NH, RI or VT) does not have a local program, students and educators can participate in the 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards through the Northeast Art Region-at-Large. The Northeast Art Region-at-Large is administered by the Alliance’s national office in New York City.
Students should follow the link below to the Local Guidelines and Deadlines page and enter their zip codes to ensure they don't have a regional program before submitting work to the Northeast Art Region-at-Large program.

A full list of all counties served by the Northeast Art Region-at-LargeThe Northeast Art Region-at-Large is comprised of areas that do not have regional Scholastic Art Award programs and includes Maryland and Maine, as well as parts of New Jersey, New Yorkand Pennsylvania.
